Welcome to Geo's Place
Step out of the rain and come on in. George is already at the piano taking requests. The band is getting ready to play. Don't be shy, feel free to sit in and play a number.

About the music selections George plays under the "Request a song " drop down:

Somewhere Over the Rainbow is a George Shearing interpretation. Get the (PDF) sheet music [here].

Polka dots and Moonbeams was inspired by a Bud Powell arrangement I heard many years ago. Many of the voicing's is utilizing the "drop two" method. In other words, "drop" the 2nd note from the top of your right hand voicing to the bottom (or bass) note of your left hand.

Green Dolphin Street - Having some fun playing my Roland RD 700 SX keyboard. "Scat voices" in my right hand while kicking bass and cymbal with my left hand. The song modulates from the key of C (the "Real book" key) to Eb (the key Miles played it in).

GloverBand - Live - The GloverBand performed for the Kerry's Kids Benefit. This video is our complete set (35 min) that features myself with Nita, Gina and Sean Glover with special guest Eric Golub. It's on the raw and funky side as the music had two short rehearsals (without Eric) and plenty improvised on the spot. We wanted to have some fun with the music. It appeared everybody else had fun with it too.
