Web Design

It's not hard to see how fast the Internet is evolving. Just how long will it be before your most advanced piece of computer hardware becomes your next paperweight?

Technology is picking up speed and waits for no one. The web designer's canvas better known as a computer screen is by no means an exception to the rule of evolution. Those bulky tube computer screens of yesterday that displayed hundreds of colors are being replaced by sleek LCD flat screens that will not only deliver millions of colors but also do it in a new wide screen format.

The 14. whatever modem... That’s right, there’s a new attitude in Internet land.

As "Biff" the Internet bully once put it. "If you can't surf (even surf sounds outdated) your favorite sites to upload a blog or photo while downloading a pod cast and video, then maybe you shouldn't be playing, just go and read a comic book or some em'."

So, with all this ever changing technology can a graphic designer afford to continue building web sites the same way he or she did even a year ago?
Before you answer that, I forgot to mention that Biff was referring to doing all those web tasks on his cell phone with a two-inch screen.

From where I'm standing (or sitting) it's no different today than when I created my first web site. There is always a new approach on how to build a web site. HTTP, DHTTP, ASP, CSS, XML used together when building a web site will not only create a beautiful site on the outside but on the inside as well.

To help demonstrate what I'm talking about, my two sites within gg.com "coolness" and "52nd St." are not only completely different in subject matter but also in their development. Learn more under "Tips and Tricks" under the right column.
